Lion's Choice® is a sponsor for the St. Louis County Library's 38th Annual Summer Reading Club. This year, Lion's Choice® has granted $3,000 to help promote the program. In addition to the grant, the Lion's Choice® Restaurant-on-Wheels, a self- contained kitchen trailer, will provide food for participants at the June 3, 2006 kick-off party in Faust Park.

At the June 3rd kickoff parties (11-2pm), summer readers had their first chance to sign up for the club. When a child registered he/she received: a Lion's Choice coupon, one bowling pass, a Family Attractions Card, a reading log book and an activity book that included fun pages.

The kick-off parties were at the following locations:

1. Faust Park
2. Suson Park
3. North County Recreation Center

Entertainment at each kick-off party included magicians and petting zoos (except Suson).

The Summer Reading Club will run from June 3, 2006 to August 5, 2006. Last year, 18,000 children (0-12 years) participated, although this year The St. Louis County Library expects 21,000 participants.
